TerraSOS is a mobile application designed to facilitate the rapid identification of local emergency numbers and the display of essential emergency phrases in different languages.

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data may be processed when using the TerraSOS application ("App"). Personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

2. Important Notice

TerraSOS is not an emergency service provider. The App only assists users in:

• identifying local emergency numbers
• dialing the correct emergency number
• displaying important emergency phrases or information in the local language

The App does not operate, manage, or control emergency services and does not guarantee that emergency calls can be successfully completed.

Users remain solely responsible for contacting local emergency services and ensuring that their device has:

• a functioning cellular connection
• sufficient battery power
• a working SIM card or network connection

The App cannot guarantee connectivity, response time, or the availability of emergency services. TerraSOS does not replace professional emergency services.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Where personal data is processed, such processing is carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Processing may be based on the following legal grounds:

• Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – processing necessary for providing the functionality of the App
• Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interests in maintaining the stability, security, and improvement of the App
• Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – user consent, where certain features (such as location access) are enabled

4. Data Collection

TerraSOS is designed to minimize the collection of data. Depending on the features used, the following types of data may be processed.

4.1 Device Information

The App may process basic technical information such as:

• device model
• operating system version
• app version

This information may be used to ensure application stability, diagnose technical issues, and improve application functionality.

4.2 Location Data

The App may access device location only when the user explicitly enables this feature. Location data may be used solely for the following purposes:

• identifying the country or region
• displaying relevant emergency phrases
• enabling the correct emergency dialing format
• identifying and displaying geographic coordinates

Location data is not stored permanently by Naptive GmbH, unless explicitly stated. Location access is used solely to enable the relevant functionality of the App.

4.3 Analytics Data

Anonymous usage data may be processed to improve the performance and stability of the App. Such data may include crash reports, feature usage statistics, and technical diagnostic information. This data does not identify individual users.

5. No Continuous Tracking

TerraSOS does not perform continuous location tracking. Location access, if enabled, occurs only when required for a specific feature of the App.

6. Data Storage

TerraSOS primarily processes data locally on the user's device. Naptive GmbH does not maintain a central database of user accounts or personal profiles, unless explicitly stated.

7. Third-Party Services

To provide and improve the App, certain third-party services may be used. These may include:

• Apple services
• Google services
• cloud infrastructure providers
• analytics or crash reporting services

These providers may process limited technical information required for the operation of their services. Such processing is governed by the privacy policies of the respective third-party providers.

8. International Data Transfers

When certain infrastructure or platform services are used, data may be processed outside the European Union or Switzerland. Where data is transferred to third countries, appropriate safeguards are implemented in accordance with Articles 44–49 GDPR.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. However, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

TerraSOS does not retain personal data longer than necessary for the operation of the application. Data processed locally on the device can be removed by the user at any time by uninstalling the App.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13.

12. User Rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have certain rights regarding their personal data, including:
